Well, I thought it was high time I started working on updates on iPad apps for the digital artist.  It was these very iPad apps that I’ll be sharing over the next several videos that helped me start this website and grow this interest in digital painting.  And with the speed that technology moves, I knew there would come a time that I would need to revisit these awesome programs.

The first one I’m coming back to is Paper by 53.  It is one of my favorite sketching and idea creating apps on the market.  And the improvements they’ve made have made this a truly worthwhile iPad app.

Paper by 53 Removes the Journals

One of the things I really enjoyed about the original verions of Paper was the feel of having a journal in my iPad.  These little notebooks with my own cover which could be opened and pages flipped.  Unfortunately the novelty wore off fairly quickly.  And so the improvements they’ve made appeal to me.

You can now quickly move between pages without having to go in an order.  I have the ability to reorder my pages and adjust how many are showing in the grid at one time.  It’s these little ease of use changes that make this program really shine now.

Add to the fact that the company also makes their own pressure sensitive stylus called the Pencil, and you have a complete package.  So if you haven’t downloaded the program yet, give Paper – Notes, Photo Annotation, and Sketches by FiftyThree – FiftyThree, Inc. a try now.
